Hello and welcome to the Nauticast podcast, the podcast that usually goes through a song of ice and fire one chapter a week, but not here.

I'm one of your hosts Emmett, better known as Poor Quentin.

My co-host, Jeff, better known as Brendan Beefish, is taking a couple months off the podcast for work.

As soon as he's back, we will be resuming the regular weekly podcast with a storm of swords.

Until then, I've been recording weekly episodes with a rotating series of guest hosts on a variety of topics,

as well as doing audio and text posts of my own.

This week, I'm going to be doing an episode without a co-host.

Since Jeff is going to be coming back soon within the next few weeks and we're going to be picking

up with a storm of swords, I wanted to do an episode just introducing a storm of swords from my

perspective and talking about all the things I love about it, a couple things I love a little less

about it, and just what my overall perspective on the book is,

and just little hints and teases as to some of the stuff we're going to be getting into once Jeff is back.

So our spoiler warning, as usual, all published books, five novels, three Dunkin Egg novellas,

histories, interviews, sample chapters, Game of Thrones, a television show,

spoiler warning for anything and everything.

So, A Storm of Swords. It's the most popular book in The Song of Ice and Fire. I think that's fair to say.

If you ask people online, which is their favorite book, this always gets the most responses.

If you talk about the scenes people love best in the book series, Storm has more of them than any other book that people talk about, that people talk about

their first time reading, and people love to revisit and return to, especially as we've all

waited for feast and then dance and then winds.

People are always coming back to a storm of swords.

So let's step back from those individual scenes.
