From a longer conversation with Professor Evan Ellis of the US Army War College about Ecuador, a week past Ecuador was shocked to see a live television station news broadcast taken over by armed gunman of the Chinaros

warlord, ganglord, drug lord. This had to do with the dispute over one of their leaders disappearing or vanishing from jail,

riots in jail.

The whole country was in a state of chaos and fear because of the television event. A week past it is, according to the

professor, calming down, the army has launched operations despite some restraints because of the Constitution.

The new President Nuboa declared an emergency and the Professor now explains how the army has been effective.

This is Ecuador.

Why it matters is that Ecuador is now the number two

contributor to the Darien Gap migration north to the southern border of the US.

Venezuela is number one, Ecuador is number two, people fleeing the drugs and the violence and the gangs and the collapse of the local economy.

Also Ecuador is the port of entry for Chinese nationals flying in from the mainland because you do not need an entry visa from

Kito, the capital. You make your way north to Columbia, then under Panama, then

under the southern border.
