This is John Batchel, a conversation with colleague and author Lee Smith, running recently in the tablet magazine about a Washington moment, a man by name of Davis, a lieutenant colonel U.S. Army retired, nominated, brought forward to be the number three at the Director of National Intelligence.

That job means the presidential daily briefing.

The nomination was in abeyance and then it was withdrawn.

Why? Why did so many voices rise in contention about Colonel Davis? Lee Smith explains, in one part,

has to do with China and the Trump administration policy towards China going forward,

and the ongoing dispute, healthy dispute in the Republican Party about China, about foreign policy, about Donald Trump.

Is Lee Smith to explain much more of this tonight.

Yes.

This is a very pro-China faction of the foreign policy world.

So, yeah, I'll go into that in a little bit.

But to start, that that is to say to answer

John's question, which is, is this going to keep going on?

So yes, it will, because Donald Trump has identified China, Russia, and Iran as the top

three foreign policy threats to the United States.

And the way that right now that Donald Trump is

dealing with China is his is the terrorist regime. And so a lot of people, a lot of American

corporations, a lot of American, a lot of the U.S. political establishment has a great deal

at stake here. So yeah, they're going to keep

going after Trump and they're not going to let this is going to be going on the whole time.

They're going to be fighting Trump and looking to tear him down, especially on China.
