Thinking of history compares MacArthur's challenge to deal with the destroyed and very

much despairing Japanese economy and people following the surrender in 1945, and how he

plowed in to remake the Japanese culture from the imperialists

and the militarists who were dominated for decades into what we see today as a productive

and extremely aggressive and sophisticated capitalist state. compares that to what the Trump administration aims to do with the World Trade Organization

and the way China has abused at these decades and how the WTO can be remade for a balance between trading partners.

Well, I certainly think that MacArthur was successful.

He wasn't 100% successful.

I'm sure he would have done other things. And there were things

that he wished he had done better and things that he wished he had not done as well as he did.

I think Trump will be successful. I think the real key comes up as Gordon, sorry, as John mentions,

it's going to be in the midterms. If he retains, if the GOP retains control of the Congress after the midterms, and then that will build up.

It will depend, of course, a lot on the economy and how well the opposition.
