everything secure. This is John Batchel, a conversation with Captain James Fennel, U.S. Navy

retired intelligence officer, about the Chinese PLA Navy planning to build a fourth carrier.

Not yet, but they're watching for it very carefully.

The third carrier is already in the fleet in testing for its launch system,

its electromagnetic launch system, similar to the one on Ford for the U.S. Navy.

A fourth carrier, Jim Reasons, is reason to believe there'll be six

altogether, since rotation I've learned over the years means one at sea, one in repairs, and one in

training. The fourth carrier, however, not yet. It's presumed, but not yet. Here's Jim Fennell. Tell us about the carriers.

More of this tonight. It's got contracts with the U.S. government, and they put out some commercial

imagery in February showing some of these bit pieces of what they estimate is possibly the fourth aircraft carrier,

and they have catapults lined up and some other maybe bulkheads,

and there's been some reporting possibly of a nuclear reactor being worked on somewhere.

What they don't have is kind of a firm knowledge on what the timeline is, because
