This is John Batchel, speaking with good colleague Bill Rajio of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracy,

about a sent-com strike in Idlib taking out the military commander of an al-Qaeda entity.

However, Bill extends his remarks to talk about the Trump administration policy towards the jihadists in Idlib,

compared to, contrasted to the Biden administration.

Bill looks to not only Idlib province, but also Damascus. Why? Because the renovated al-Qaeda ops in Damascus claiming to be the government. Maybe next. Here's Bill to explain.

So, again, the Biden administration, administration you know periodically conducted strikes in

Syrian usually they were targeting the Islamic state which is an enemy of Hayatahir al-Sham

and al-Qaeda um and yet it was able to get safe haven in Iblip and it wasn't an accident

because Hayat-ahir-asham, in my estimation, was providing

cover for members of the Islamic State. Keep in mind that a lot of these guys used to be part of the

same network. They were all part of Al-Qaeda and Iraq and then what became the Islamic State

in Iraq and Syria before it broke from Al-Qaeda, before Al-Qaeda ejected the Islamic State.

So, you know, in Idliblib this is another area where it was governed it just was a safe haven for terrorist organizations hiya tihir al-sham was

governing there was running schools um there you could see road signs you know decrying western

democracy and and that you know all types of you know their decrying Western democracy and, and, you know, all types of, you know,

their form of governance, not our form of governance. The, um, the administration, you know,

again, going after Haris al-Din, which is closely linked to Hayat Tahir al-Sham, I think that's a

not so subtle message to Hayat-Tihir al-Sham. I think that's a not so subtle message to Hayat Tehr al-Sham that it's

very likely next on the list, that it's safe havens in northwestern Syria and Idlib province,

as well as in Damascus, can be next on the, you know, on the strike list.
