This is John Batchelor, a conversation with my colleague Brad Bowman later on tonight, and this is a small part of it, but it does identify a change of the U.S. Navy's posture in the region around the Gaza War.

Here are to four two carrier strike groups in the Eastern Med, the Eisenhower and the Ford, now passing through the Suez Canal an Ohio-class

cruise missile boat one of four in the fleet, 154 Tomahawk missiles, passing through the Suez Canal

so we could all see it into the Red Sea and from there we can presume into the

Indian Ocean, perhaps the Arabian Sea.

Right, so there's some there's some confusion here a lot among a lot of folks regarding America's submarine fleet.

And here's what your listeners need to know.

So almost certainly, this submarine that the U that the US Central Command tweeted about, of course with the

approval of the Pentagon and the White House, is almost certainly what we call an Ohio

class guided missile submarine, an SSGN.

That is different than the Ohio class ballistic missile submarines, which are the ones that

carry the submarine launch, the nuclear tip submarine launch ballistic missiles.

So these Ohio-class guided missile submarines

are four older Ohio-class submarines that were converted to carry up to 154

tomahawk land attack cruise missiles. And so as you said we have four of those the

U.S.S. Ohio, the U.S.S. Michigan, the U.S. US Michigan the US is Florida and US Georgia most likely it's one of those and I'll tell you

154 tomahawks that's a heck of a lot of firepower and that augments the firepower

already that we have in the destroyers and cruisers accompanying the Eisenhower
