This is John Batchelor. The question, when is the Canadian election? Conrad Black of the National Post Distinguished

Biographer, recent information, it looks like it'll be soon, very soon. Conrad explains, this is a different

governance from the U.S. I get used to it. The election is called by a leader, and then everything happens

very quickly, none of these two or three-year campaigns. The Canadian election will be critical,

however, to join in with the U.S. in reversing some of the unhappy policies of these last

years, chiefly the color green. Is Conrad Black on the Canadian

election imminent? More of this tonight. Well, the liberal party, the present governing party,

will choose their leader. I only just discovered this on March the 9th. I assumed it was going to be just before Parliament returns,

but I hadn't checked it. It'll be two weeks before that.

So March the 9th, and we're what, just the 20th of February today,

so barely two weeks.

And two weeks this coming weekend.

And at that point, the incoming leader has the right to request an election. And the guessing now is that he will do it right away. So the election would then be approximately the end of April.
