This is John Batchelor, conversation with Caleb Weiss of the Foundation for the Defense of

Democracy and the Bridgeway Foundation in Africa about the Russians, formerly known

as Bagnog people, the Russians involving themselves

in West Africa all through the Sahil. In this instance we speak of Mali and how the Russians battle the Al Qaeda representatives

in the area, the jihadists.

The Russians provide security throughout Africa, other countries as well in exchange for money, gold,

opportunity, access. In this instance Caleb tells the story of firefights in

Corps, as you say, is also protecting the government in Bamako, sort of the same agreement that Wagner, Ex Wagner had with

Bengei in that they're protecting the government in exchange for gold mines or other mining

concessions,

to doing the same thing in Maui.

And part of this does include offensive operations

against jihadis in Maui, primarily Al Qaeda.

And there have been several instances in the last six months or so where Wagner or what is now Africa Corps have violently clashed with Al Qaeda in Maui. And it's kind of on both sides.

So Vogner has won some, Al Qaeda has won some.

But they are definitely not friendly.

They're not working together.

In fact, they hate each other.

Al Qaeda and Molly has made it very clear that they see Russians as another extension of the

quote-unquote crusader campaign against Islam.
