Since we're here in front of microphones, I just want to poke at the debate style that Will McAvoy's

proposing just a little bit more. I'm curious if Sorkin would think, like, is it the job of the

moderator to only ask the potentially embarrassing, the potentially difficult questions?

Like, is it not substantive to ask Rick Santorum, like, what were your greatest accomplishments

as a senator from Pennsylvania? Is that a valid question to ask during Santorum, like, what were your greatest accomplishments as a senator from Pennsylvania?

Is that a valid question to ask during a debate like this? Or is that just fluff compared to

the question we heard him asking? Or would he also apply this to like the Democratic primary in

2008? Like, would he think that the correct thing would be for the moderator to keep saying,

so, Senator Obama, where is your long form birth certificate? You haven't provided 2008. Like, would he think that the correct thing would be for the moderator to keep saying,

Pushing Hillary Clinton on, so why did your campaign release that photo of Obama in, like,

traditional Kenyan dress? Do you think that's a little racist? Yeah. Is that, like,

is that what he's asking for here?

Well, actually, I would like to see that side of Will McAvoy a little bit more. Because, again,

we're told that he is such a Republican. Not only did he write speeches for George H.W. Bush,

he's like the fourth Bush child. Jesus. So, like, this was like 92. Like not that long ago. This is like during the Gulf War.

Yeah.

So I would like to see not just the centrist side of him, but I would like to see like,

what is his right-wing ideology?

Like how come we never see Will McAvoy say, yeah, frickin' comrade Hillary with her socialized

medicine in the 90s?
