Summary

For over 50 years, documentary filmmaker Tony Buba has chronicled the decline - but also the people, places, and everyday poetry - of his hometown of Braddock, Pennsylvania. Recently we watched his best-known film, LIGHTNING OVER BRADDOCK: A RUSTBOWL FANTASY (1988), and fell in love with it. 0:05.7	Lightning Over Braddock, a Rust Bowl fantasy by Tony Buba. This was a film that was suggested
0:12.7	to us in one of our superdelegate polls. There was a listener who voted for it many times,
0:18.1	and it finally won, and neither of us knew this film but we fell in love
0:22.9	with it and I think it was Luke who mentioned hey if anybody out there knows Tony Buba you should
0:28.7	let him know we exist and I guess somebody did yeah Tony Buba got in touch and said he'd be happy
0:35.8	to chat and chat we did We just had a wonderful conversation
0:39.7	with him about his films, which have chronicled his hometown of Braddock for many, many years.
0:45.1	To prepare for the interview, we actually kind of binged much of his corpus. And, well, I think as a
0:50.7	nice little prelude to the discussion, and we don't have to get into too much detail here,
