I bet the people last week were really disappointed that we didn't do a studio 60 episode.

Well, I was disappointed.

But we're back.

We're back, baby.

We are having the time of our fucking lives over here.

I think we're only halfway through now.

I mean, I'm disappointed that we only have 50% of this left.

This could keep us going for years.

Anytime a man and a woman are having a conversation, like he treats it as a battle,

whether it's Danny talking to the Vanity Fair writer, whether it's Matt's relationship with

Harriet, which is also a battle. They're always doing, you know, repartee and posts and reposts

about, you know, how she's a Christian and blah, blah, blah. He almost always seems to approach

writing conversations between a man and a woman that way. And I guess just like as a final point

here, it is really striking how on the show so many of the characters have dated one another.

There's so many things with exes.

You know, we don't know where all these characters are going to end up.

But like, there really is a thing going on here where the Matt and Danny characters,

because they are both kind of proxies for Aaron Sorkin, they're like his psyche split into two

or something.

And the female characters, it feels like, are basically

in an important respect, appendages to the arcs of the male characters. Their plots invariably

seem like they're either in the service of the male characters that we like, or they're related
