I think you're right about the story that boomers tell,

Normie boomer culture tells itself.

The kind of official narrative for of, you know, Normie boomer culture tells itself the kind of official narrative

for people, you know, in the Anglo-American world in that generation.

And one of the things Tony Blair understood and that he was, I mean, if he had a talent, it was

this, was the need to appeal to people by drawing on that narrative, but also kind of flattering

them at the same time. So in the official

rhetoric and kind of self-understanding of Blairism, they were carrying on the best of the

Labor Party tradition. They were simultaneously breaking from the past, but they were also

honoring it. So, you know, Blair, for example, when they rewrote Clause 4 of the Labor Party

Constitution, I know this sounds obscure, but the

clause four debates were a pretty big deal in Britain. Clause four was the, I think, 1918 clause in the

Labor Party constitution that committed them to nationalizing or to taking the commanding heights
