So obviously it's a very big day here in Washington, D.C. President Trump and the First Lady, Melania Trump, are about to welcome King Charles and Queen Camilla to the White House.

There'll be an informal get-together today, a more formal arrival tomorrow morning.

And this afternoon at the U.K. Embassy, there will be a garden party, but a huge sequence

of events are planned for a very big few days here for King Charles and Queen Camilla. Obviously,

there's a backdrop of the war in Iran and some tensions that have existed between the Prime

Minister, Kyr Starmer, and President Trump. President Trump has said he is very excited and, quote, we're going to have a lot of fun as the king arrives here shortly.

So I'm very pleased to be joined by the UK ambassador to the United States, Christian Turner.

It's a pleasure to be with you.

So let's talk a little bit about what to expect here.

And I want to sort of preface this because we saw each other Saturday night at the correspondence

dinner and it was a scary and chaotic and thankfully everybody was okay.

What was your reaction to that?

And did that evening, because you and your wife were both there,

did it make you think, oh my gosh, we have some work to do on getting ready for this visit for the king?

Do you know, actually it didn't. I mean, we're so grateful that everyone was safe and the professionals did their job.

And actually, it's almost redoubled my sense of why this visit matters so much.

What unites us is far greater than what divides us. It allows us to step back and celebrate and cherish everything in this very historic relationship.
