Hello everybody, welcome to a good football show, I'm Patrick Darty, joined today by

0:21.2

Denny Carter, where we will be breaking down the weekend's preseason action and talking

0:26.6

about some hinge point ADPs, hashtag hinge point ADPs, the players who can make or break

0:33.8

your draft. But first, there is an important topic I want to ask Denny about. One thing

0:39.6

I dealt with personally over the weekend, that is day drinking.

0:44.9

You dealt with? Is it good? Is it bad? And why was I asleep at 8 p.m. last night, Denny?

0:52.5

I'm fine. I have some thoughts on the day drinking. It's not appealing. For me, it was

0:59.4

not appealing at all until I became a dad and early wake-up times became the order of the day.

You couldn't avoid them. You have to be up. You have to be making breakfast. You have

1:13.8

to be doing all the parent stuff very early in the morning. So therefore, there is some

1:20.5

appeal to having a few drinks during the day, hydrating heavily. Here is what you don't

1:29.0

1:36.7

to be up and down, going to the bathroom four or five times during the night. That's

1:40.8

horrendous. And B, we're just lazy. We just drink and then go to bed. And then your

1:46.8

body sits there for eight hours with all this poison in it. And it becomes dehydrated.

1:53.0

So there's a lot of appeal in day drinking. But you're right. It does tend to put you to

1:59.7

sleep pretty early. In the nap zone, I did not drink heavily

2:03.1

yesterday. And it still was just totally in the nap, the sleep zone by 8 p.m. And I think

2:09.8

one of the things like the day drinking committee doesn't really tell you is that a lot of

2:14.3

day drinking, almost all day drinking is exclusively in the summer. And in America, in this

2:19.8

continent of climate, a lot of times that means 90 degrees high humidity. So as you're drinking

2:25.2

your life force, your outside, your life force is also being sucked away by the weather.
