Pat Kerrane (@PatKerrane) is joined by Peter Overzet (@peteroverzet) and Mike Leone (@2Hats1Mike) to discuss the repercussions of Travis Etienne's season ending foot injury. The guys then get into high stakes fantasy football strategy, how high stakes ADP differs from casual leagues, what types of players get pushed up the board, how to build structurally and what positions make sense to prioritize early.

Welcome to a good football show. I'm your host, Pack Brain, with me today to be very special guest, Mike Leoni of Establish for Run, and the Establish Kids podcast, and Pete Oversett of pretty much everything, but, you know,

0:29.0

Oversett YouTube channel underdog fantasy, making excellent videos, and also my co-host of the ship chasing podcast. Guys, how's it going?

0:36.0

Going pretty well. So, some not so fun fantasy news before we hopped on, but otherwise it's going well.

0:44.0

Yeah, let's let's get into that. The big news today, Travis ETN suffered a foot injury. It is believed to end his season, a season ending injury for Travis ETN.

0:57.0

And he's expected to need surgery on a list, Frank sprain. Obviously, this has huge implications.

1:06.0

Devastating for Travis ETN managers, but also James Robinson now becomes quite a bit more interesting may have some additional shakeups, Carlos Hyde may become draftable.

1:19.0

Daria Goombalwala probably needs to be projected, so stop that, Mike. But Pete, where are you at on kind of the big shift here? Where does Robinson land for you? Thoughts on the injury?

1:31.0

Yeah, I, it's definitely a huge bummer. I was just starting to get really excited about ETN. We like that kind of profile as a guy who could give a standalone value at the start of the season, and then potentially finish really strong as his role expands similar to what we saw with Jonathan Taylor last year.

1:48.0

That's obviously off the table. I think I haven't thought too much specifically about where James Robinson's price should be just because I think it's going to end up being too expensive to my liking. My guess is he gets steamed all the way up into the late fourth early fifth.

2:03.0

The negative for him, I think, is still Carlos Hyde is there Urban Meyer stubborn. I think he's going to split carries the maybe the positive though is who else is going to steal past catching work from him now that ETN's gone Carlos Hyde is never really profiled as a prolific past catcher.

2:19.0

So if he can have the past catching plus role and get first crack at goal line, it might be kind of justifiable there, but I'm curious where where you guys are at.

2:29.0

I've got him just like really initial first look like redoing our projections over ETR and he spits out about 75th overall in our half PPR rankings. So for that type of back, I think that makes sense. That's what six round you're talking about there.

2:46.0

I think like six seventh round is probably about right. As you said, I suspect people are going to take him earlier than that.

2:53.0

But I definitely get a little jittery still in that sort of running back dead zone where the wide receivers are still really good before they drop off after round five.

3:02.0

It would be tough to take Robinson ahead of those guys. I mean, he's still an undrafted free agent with a new regime whose value came from being a workhorse like that was his value last year was he had every single running back touch and I don't think that's going to happen with ETN gone.

3:18.0

But he certainly way more viable and way more way more upside than he had a day ago.

3:25.0

I don't want to do this, but I'll kind of make the case for James Robinson here. And if we had Travis ETN, you know, some of these high stakes leagues and the topic we will be getting to later in this podcast is going to be high stakes.

3:38.0

But in some of these high stakes leagues, you're seeing Travis ETN in the fourth round and actually quite a bit of them in the fourth round, not usually falling into the fifth.

3:47.0

But with, you know, we talked about this with when came makers went down, Darryl Henderson did not have to compete with came makers now came makers was going to compete with Darryl Henderson.

3:56.0

There's a little bit of a similar dynamic where a very talented player is now out of the offense. James Robinson is now competing with Carlos Hyde and Daria Gumbawale, whereas, you know, ETN was going to have to be competing with Robinson.

4:08.0

So is there anything to the idea that Robinson should jump up to roughly where ETN was this kind of a starting point?

4:15.0

It's just sort of if Robinson has the explosiveness that we knew ETN had, you know, that was kind of a big thing with ETN.
