Hi, my name is Pete Guzzaro. I want to welcome you today to the Emotionally Healthy Leader podcast.

So great to be with you. So today the title of our podcast is preparing for the end of the world.

0:14.9

Out of Mark 13, I'm going to be sharing a sermon message I gave about this incredibly important text when Jesus

0:22.5

talks about the end of history as we know it and what our response should be as we're walking

0:28.2

through it. So it's an incredibly important truth, especially in these turbulent times in which we live.

0:35.1

In fact, Jesus tells us in advance, the kind of upheavals and events

0:38.8

that we can expect, the kind of birth pangs that will accompany the end of history. And

0:44.6

it talks about the great instability that we can expect externally and internally, inside the

0:50.4

1:27.6

It's probably a book about United States history, and this author is trying to give a bit of

1:31.7

perspective on the storm that's happening, at least in the United States here, in the last

1:38.1

five, ten years, and basically giving a perspective over our 200-plus-year history about that these storms come, they've got four

1:46.6

or five big ones, and that there's a great calm that generally follows it. It's a theory that he has.

1:52.1

It's very interesting. What's so different about this is this is Jesus and his word. It's true,

1:57.7

and we can take his word to the bank, as they say. Jesus said, heaven and earth will pass away,

2:04.5

but my word will never pass away. So enjoy this exposition and message from scripture out of
