| 1:27.9 | bill. Both of these are must-pass bills, so Hill leaders and the White House have to come to a deal. |

| 1:38.3 | sure that the lights stay on in the federal government, but also what the first quarter of President-elect Donald Trump's |
| 1:46.2 | office really looks like. The current CR funding federal agencies runs out on December 20th. So Trump |
| 1:53.6 | obviously takes office just weeks later. And I think probably more importantly to focus on is a speaker |
| 1:59.6 | vote is going to happen on January 3rd. |
| 2:02.8 | Speaker Mike Johnson wants to pass a short-term CR that extends into 2025. |

| 2:10.1 | It's going to make it easier for Johnson, who has very, very slim numbers to actually be |
| 2:16.2 | successful in his bid to retain the speakership. |
| 2:20.6 | And that would provide Trump and the incoming White House a chance to put their stamp on |
