Hey friend, it's Kristen.

Grab your scriptures and let's dive into Genesis chapter 6, verse 3.

Now, when I heard the story of Noah as a child, I felt bad for the people who drowned in the flood.

I wondered if they'd been given

just a little bit more time or maybe one more warning, then they would have repented and

secured a spot on the ark. But the scriptures give us a timeline of how long Noah's peers were

given to repent before the flood. It says, quote, and the Lord said, my spirit shall not always

strive with man, yet his days shall be in 120 years.

Noah didn't just preach to the people for a couple of weeks or months in warning.

He preached for years, even decades, to people who refuse to listen.

While it's frustrating to think about, it's also a reminder of how generous God is. God gave

the people of Noah plenty of warning before the flood came, and he's doing the same with us now.

Think of how often prophets have warned us to study our scriptures, strengthen our homes, or pray more.

We're being warned just like the people of Noah's day were. We might not be facing a physical flood, but we are facing a deluge of sin and temptation, unlike

the world is ever seen.

We need to pay close attention to the prophet's warnings or risk drowning in the downpour

of temptation and deception surrounding us.

So the takeaway of the day in five words or less is, prepare for downpours of temptation.
