Janet Garcia and I rank every platformer ever made. This is a project that might take

days, weeks, months, years, or more likely until I'm in the grave. And yet, it's what we're going to do.

Jana and I love platformers, and we simply cannot contain all of our platformer joy in a single podcast. Plus, there are so many I haven't played in so long. There are so many I haven't had a chance to play. There's so many I haven't had a chance to revisit since I was younger. and so this is an opportunity for Janet and I to go through the entire catalog of, well, to some degree, what is a platformer? That is a question we explore in the first episode of this. Still Untitled podcast. I'm advocating for Jumpfield, which was submitted by a reader, but it seems like Janet's not fully on board with that one yet. So we're working it through. Eventually there'll be a real title for this podcast. There are going to be regular streams throughout the month, which Janet and I both together and perhaps on our own will be exploring the homework for the next month, which are the next set of platformers that we're going to be ranking as part of our list, because to rank the games on the list, we have to play them ahead of time. So Super Mario World, you should probably be on that list and you're not because we haven't played it yet. But that is one of the homework for the next month. The streams are for everyone. You can see us play the games that we're going to be talking about. You can see us talk about the games we're going to be talking about. Perfect sentence. Nailed it. No notes. Don't edit any of that out.

There's a lot over the course of the two hours that we go over, and you can get that podcast once a month, like I said, if he's subscribed with the library or foundation tier, they're the same.

Not one game, not 100 games, every platformer ever made.

What exactly is a platformer? What games then qualify for the list? Why isn't Super Mario World simply at the top? Over the course of however many episodes are necessary, you get to join Janet I as we figure out what the best, worst, and most mid-platformers exist in the world. The structure of this series is a bit in flux because we're kind of figuring it out, including its title, which you'll help us go on that journey with, hopefully by the time we get to the next episode. But here's a general idea. Once a month, Jan and I are going to convene into microphones to record a new episode of this podcast, talk through the handful of games we've been playing over the past month, and past judgment on whether, not whether, where they go on the list.

as we kind of do our homework on what those games are.
