I'm a little suspicious.

This was the first person I've ever met in real life and I want to shout them out.

I was in line to see modest mouse the other night at a place called Terminal 5 in New York.

I was with a couple of people.

Someone came up, said, are you Jesse single, which happens very rarely and usually ends with me getting punched in the face.

In this case, they were a listener and this has only happened a handful of times.

It's always amazing to me that anyone recognizes me, recognizes my voice.

They said hi, they said they were listener.

I feel bad because I was in line and trying to corral my group together and fumbling with my ticket.

I think I was not as friendly as I usually am.

I looked at them and I said, how dare you call me by my first name and I slapped them in the face?

I don't know which part of this story is more unbelievable that you slapped someone or that someone recognized you.
