Stan was CNN's Senior International Correspondent based in Abu Dhabi, Hong Kong and Beijing, before returning to Australia as International Affairs Analyst for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

He is arguably Australia's most experienced global journalist and the most famous Indigenous Australian. He resigned from the national public broadcaster last year in a national firestorm about racism.

Stan and Josh discuss racial slurs, changing norms, tribalism, the rootless global elite, and finding meaning outside religion.

0:45.5	in Altadena, in Los Angeles, and we spoke last Tuesday. You know what went down last Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday in Los Angeles. I say
0:58.0	she lives in Altadena. She lived in Altadena, basically up until the day that she recorded this show.
1:06.3	Because much of Altadena, including her house, is rubble, is ashes. She didn't own the house,
1:13.7	she owned everything in the house, and like me, she makes a living from podcasting and
1:18.5	substacking, and now she has no equipment and know where to live, and we'll have to spend
