Gatay, humans. Let us interrupt the normal programming of this podcast to say a thing or two

0:09.1

about the Los Angeles fires, or maybe not directly about the Los Angeles fires, but about

0:16.7

fire and life and trauma and what matters.

0:23.7

There's very little that can be said looking at the images out of LA and if you're listening

I go there a lot.

1:31.5

I know the place.

1:32.8

I have very close friends there.

1:34.6

And it just hits you differently than a place you don't know.

1:46.0

Instead of trying to fumble my way through trite bromides about this,

1:52.0

I thought what I would do here is talk not about the LA fires,

1:56.0

but about a fire that I knew very well.
