There was once a witch who lived on top of a hill in a gingerbread house in the middle

of the forest.

Her house was not only the sweetest, but also the prettiest of all.

It was incredibly colorful, in contrast to the brown gingerbread.

It had many sweets of sparkling red, green, and yellow.

Its walls were as tall as a tree and had big square holes surrounded by cut candy cane

as their windows.

But perhaps the most impressive part of the witch's house was her roof.

The last day it had snowed upon her house, but in place of snow there was frosting on

her roof, and small white icicles that dripped sweetened water when defrosted.

The witch was very powerful and also very grumpy.

When a day was hot and sunny, she would make it cloudy.

She liked cloudy days better because sunny days would melt her gingerbread castle, but

the truth was that outside of her frown and her long pointy nose, she was just as sweet

as her home.

I'm home!

She would say every time she arrived from her witch work, parking her broom on the back

of her house.

As if it was a car, then she would enter and leave her hat in a candy cane hat rack,

changing it for her indoor hat.

Both were identical.
