On the next Twilight Zone podcast,

I'm going to be looking at the story back there.

And in that story, a man goes back in time,

and he is faced with an opportunity, an opportunity to save

President Abraham Lincoln and stop him being assassinated. Now fiction is full of stories like this,

it's kind of a rich vein to mine if you like. can be pivotal to history the deaths can be pivotal

as a result there's a lot of dramatic opportunities with that let's say if you could save someone

should you sometimes someone's death can set things in motion that bring about change that

sort of thing and it's something that the

Twilight Zone would come back to again in its 2000 series when a woman goes back in time and

her mission is to kill Hitler when he was a child again if you could do it would you do it

should you do it so there's a lot of dramatic opportunities here

now in the case of back there there's not a huge amount of trivia about this one so it may be

quite a short episode next time round but one of the main bits of trivia is how often this particular scenario has cropped up in fiction.

Long time listeners of the show will know that I'm a big fan of old time American radio.

I think it's quite a magical thing from a very creative time when people were putting great shows like

Dimension X on the air that sort of thing it's on American radio that this very

concept has been revisited a couple of times at least on February 7th

1950 a show called the Mysterious Traveler, which was an anthology radio show, broadcast an episode called The Man Who Tried to Save Lincoln.
