I invite you to open your Bibles to 1st Peter, chapter 4, verses 12 through 19.

In the first message, last evening,

we saw six things that Peter said would be fall Christians.

And we saw six responses that he taught us we should have when those six things befall us.

Verse 12, fiery trials are coming and they're not surprising.

Verse 13, they're called sharing in Christ's sufferings.

Verse 14, they're called being insulted for the name of Christ.

Vverse 16, they're called suffering as Christians.

Verse 17, it's called the Judgment of God, beginning with the household of God.

And verse 19, it's called Suffering according to God's will.

Those are the six things that are coming or six ways of describing

what's coming. And there are six responses that he has taught us that by grace through Christ we should have.

First, verse 12, we should not subjectively be surprised when those non-strange sufferings or trials come.

Verse 19, remember I didn't take it in textual order the second time through, but from the most foundational

up to the most ultimate.

Verse 19, we are to trust and trust our souls to a faithful Creator.

Vour 16, we are not to be ashamed.

Vourse 14, we are to rejoice in these sufferings.

Verse 19, we are not to grow weary in doing good at the end of the verse.

Doing good while doing good.
