This is CBS, I'm the World. I'm John Betts with Gordon Chang, I've Gordon G. Chang, my

colleague and co-host. And we're joined by Brandon Wichart, our colleague who's the author

most recently of Biohacked China's Race to Control Life. Brandon, your book is comprehensive.

I'm going to focus on one particular Twitter feed we have. There's no confirming any of

this. Comes out of China, a young woman who boasts of her family from the PLA and says that

she may or may know somebody who belongs to the People's Armed Police Propaganda Bureau.

She also says on Twitter to improve English and propaganda skill. This is her Twitter feed.

All says, says all forms of media's propaganda. We're just more honest about it. With all of that,

I say that we have no idea who this person is, nor if it's one person, nor if this is made up,

nor if this is an operation, but in it implicit our up-to-date news reports, such as the visit

of the Commerce Secretary to China. So this is maintained to be on headline news. And yet there

is a suggestion of mass producing children in laboratories. You touch upon that in your book.

Is that a real thing in China? Do they have ambitions to mass produce human beings?

And in that now notorious incident of the CRISPR used by an unapproved Chinese experimentalist,

is there a connection between this idea of mass producing children and and fooling with the DNA?

Unfortunately, as much as I would hate to say it isn't, it does seem to be true based on the

research that I did for my book. There's a group call at the Suzhou Institute of Biomedical

Engineering and Technology. They've already taken human embryos and they've grown them

to a very early stage in artificial wounds, an optical device which is capable of magnifying

the embryos and monitoring them in very detail. They provide key growth information to an

artificial intelligence caretaker. And they did this about three years ago at Suzhou. And so
