Beijing Reuters. China said it is complained to the United States about a weapons age package

to Taiwan, urging Washington to refrain from going further down a, quote, wrong and dangerous path.

Steve is our guide from the America First Policy Institute on these threats to Taiwan that are so routine now.

It's very difficult to anticipate a day leading a week or a day ending a week where the wolf warriors are not growling.

Steve, this dangerous and wrong path, that must sound better in Mandarin than it sounds in English.

What is it intended to convey in who is the audience for this? Good evening to you, Steve.

Good evening, John. Well, as with almost all communications from the Communist Party,

there are a multitude of audiences. I mean, there's first and foremost the morale of their troops

and the political warfare that's engaged inside their system to make people believe that they're rising, they're strong,

they have this capability and that they are succeeding in cowering and deterring their adversaries out there,

whether it be split as forces in Taiwan or the evil Americans or whomever. So that's one.

They're also speaking in very blunt terms in the wolf warrior style to Americans primarily to try to suggest that they're prepared to escalate this tension or conflict,

and Americans should not be playing games willy-nilly to bring this conflict into reality.

You know, this is not a conversation based on reality in many ways. China, of course, has invested billions upon billions of dollars in military material

and engaged in comprehensive warfare of many kinds against Taiwan and the United States for that matter just haven't had direct military conflict.

So a few million or a hundred million or even a few billion of defense articles of Taiwan doesn't tip the balance at all,
