I welcome Brad Bowman of the Foundation for the Defense of democracies to help me with acronyms

and thinking at the United States Air Force, really at the Pentagon level, about something that

we don't want ever to happen. But it is called

you want peace, you prepare for war. Right now wave after wave of information is

coming about the Chinese attacking the first island chain,

not only to roll up Taiwan, but to defeat its adversaries in Tokyo, in Manila, in Seoul, in Canberra.

All of that is worthy of preparation.

And Brad and his colleagues lead us to what the Air Force is doing now to prepare and to imagine the future.

Brad, a very good evening to you, thank you for this.

The reason I was immediately taken by your observations in the defense news

up that you've published is that here to four I've seen the air force is

contributing strategic bombers in the pushback about the Chinese offensive,

leaving the bulk of the lift to the US Navy.

But what you're describing is that the Air Force becoming adaptable to the terrain and to the geography of the Pacific.

have conducted and recently published about in defense news.

Yeah, so you know what we're talking about is an eight-day Air Force exercise as you said called Bamboo Eagle.

They ended on on August 10th and they brought together over 300, excuse me, over 3,000 service members in more than 150 aircraft and they operated in the

Western United States and the Eastern Pacific.
