An example of something that is not quite right, but you're not sure where it comes from.

Elaine writes most recently in the New York Post, it's at the FDD site.

I learned from Elaine that in 2023, in China, in the Dongguan province, a factory was open.

The factory is called the Qingtai Wire and Cable Factory. Fine,

2023. One year later, Michigan's National Standard Company, which is a wire manufacturer in America,

closed its doors after 117 years in business. Puzzling.

Thanks for inviting me back.

So, yeah, this is an interesting example of where American manufacturing

continues to decline and where Chinese manufacturing continues to grow. There are probably

hundreds of examples. This is one. We tend to, you know, think about the relationship with China in certain ways as a benefactor of low-cost goods coming from that country.

But there are a lot of hidden costs.

And I think this is what's really coming up now in the tariff conversation as we think about what it takes to rebalance a relationship between the U.S. and China.
