I'm John Batcher with Gregory Coppley of Defense and Foreign Affairs, the editor and publisher,

discussing the Indo-Pacific.

That is an entree into discussing the threat to the Indo-Pacific, which is the People's

Republic of China.

There is a kiss which Gregory explocates very carefully whenever it changes direction.

Right now we have conversations between Prime Minister Albinese, Prime Minister Sinek and

President Biden about expanding Arcus.

The question is, expanding it to whom and why.

Gregory, I do not have paper on this, but I just speculate.

Recently there was reporting of conversation in Tokyo between Japan, the Republic of the

Philippines and the United States.

Separately, there were conversations in Tokyo between Japan, the Republic of Korea and

the United States.

These are all three countries, these are two countries, three countries that are greatly

concerned with the aggression evidenced by the People's Republic of China against Taiwan

but against the whole region.

Is that part of the conversation about Arcus to grow the alliance in containment around

the People's Republic of China?

Well yes, it is.

The preoccupation with Washington today at a professional level, at the military and intelligence

level, is the containment of the expansion or aggression of the People's Republic of China
