joins me to comment on tariffs, yes, around the world. Chris has business on all the occupied continents,

and he is in Europe, the U.K. version of Europe.

And that is a propitious moment for the headlines.

Trump to announce trade deal.

Well, he announces it with U.K., first since imposing tariffs.

And EU unveils a plan to hit back at the U.S. if negotiations fail.

I'm reading the New York Times headlines, which are decidedly often on the other side of the fence for Mr. Trump.

So I note that the F.T, that would be the London headlines, the most conservative, also celebrate the deal with the UK,

not a profound deal. At the same time, the Bank of England has cut rates by a quarter point,

which is something of a surprise. So it might be that the UK economy is a boutique and doesn't

represent the rest of the continent.

We'll start there with Chris and then we'll head immediately to China because that's the

big conversation this weekend in Switzerland. Chris, a very good evening to you.

Passing through the UK and your travels, does it appear that the economy is ready to recover,

as Labor says, and that this announcement of a tariff deal will bolster the British economy,

or are they still struggling with the questions that have not been answered in Rachel Reeves' budget?
