Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Friday, August 31st, 2018. This week on the Catholic Sprouts

podcast, we have been talking about prayer. On Monday, with the help of our friend St. Monica,

we talked about what prayer actually is. On Tuesday, with the help of our friend St. Augustine, we talked about what prayer actually is. On Tuesday, with the help of our friend St. Augustine,

we talked about why we need to pray every day.

On Wednesday, with the help of St. John the Baptist,

we talked about how we might pray during times of suffering.

Yesterday, we talked about the greatest form of prayer that we can do,

which is attending Holy Mass. Today, we are going to talk about a way that God continues to speak to us

through prayer even today. We are going to talk about His Holy Word that we have in the Bible.

So, as I said before, praying is not just about talking.

It's not about just coming to God and telling him all of our needs and then leaving.

Prayer is also about listening.

Remember, God has a beautiful design for each of our lives. He created us, and he created us with a plan, with a beautiful design for our lives. But sometimes it can be kind of confusing and

overwhelming to try to figure out what that plan is. Well, here's the secret sprouts. We're not

supposed to figure it out on our own. We're supposed to figure it out with God. And so we go and we pray and we

listen, but sometimes it doesn't really feel like God has much to say. It just feels very quiet.

Well, that's normal. Even adults feel that way, but a beautiful way to find out what God is

really intending for you is to read His Holy Word in the Bible. The Bible, of course, is made up

of the Old Testament, which are things that happen before Jesus

was born, and the New Testament, which record things that happen during Jesus' life and

afterward.
