What do we mean when we say holy be your name?

We're not making God holy.

He's already holy.

We're simply recognizing it.

We're treating him as holy.

We're acknowledging His holiness.

We're affirming that we recognize His holiness.

And that's essential as we come to Him in prayer.

So what good is it to pray that God's name be hallowed?
