Let's remind ourselves today, as we pray, that prayer does indeed change things, and it

changes things because God has ordained it as one of the means He uses to bring about

His will. We don't really understand all the mystery of it, but we do know the God who

has ordained it to be so, and who empowers our prayers with the help of His Holy Spirit.

So let's prepare our hearts as we begin to pray together on this episode.

Our Father, we begin our prayers today as your children, just acknowledging that you are

good Father, that you care for us, that you have given us this privilege through Jesus Christ

to come to you in prayer. He is our intercessor, he is our great high priest, the one who stands

before you, and brings our requests on our behalf. And so Lord, we are grateful for everything

you've done to make it possible for us to be in fellowship with you through prayer. We

begin by praying for a handful of requests from our brother Greg, who writes to us from

the United States. He wants to pray, first of all, for a man who he sees in his church,

who he believes is undergoing a lot of stress, and he wants to pray that God would deliver

this man from the stress that he's experiencing, and bring about change in his life. That brings
