Well howdy good to see you super excited. This is the final sermon in the pray like Jesus sermon series

That should indicate to you that this will be a particularly lengthy sermon

We'll be in John chapter 17 an entire chapter again. We'll clue you this will be a very lengthy sermon

All of which I would just simply say you're very welcome

So open your Bible to John chapter 17 and we're going to look at Jesus high-preachly prayer

This is the longest recorded prayer that we have of Jesus Christ we praise for

Himself for us who are Christians and for those who are not yet but going to be Christians and

Jesus is praying this prayer with his disciples and let me just submit this to you

The best way to get close to someone to get to know someone is to pray for them and pray with them

That's why Jesus in this context of John 17. He's praying with his disciples

If you want to deepen your marriage pray and bring God into the middle of that relationship

If you want to improve your relationship with your children pray for them pray with them

Bring God into the middle of that relationship same with family and friends and Jesus here is allowing us to

Eavesdrop on his prayer so that we can grow in relationship with God and him

Some will call this the high-preachly prayer in the Old Testament

The high priest would go into the Holy of Holies and would pray and intercede on behalf of the people

Jesus here is operating in that function is our great

High priest and this prayer is so significant in history. Let me give you just a little bit of its impact
