Summary

During the great season of Lent, the Church recommends three very concrete acts: prayer, fasting, and the giving of alms. These are actions that involve the body as much as the mind; and they are things that we "do." Lent is not so much a time to fuss about one's "interiority" as a time to get going!"

0:55.9	I think in recent years, we've emphasized a little too much the interior dimension that

1:08.4	In the traditional practice of the church, Lent is about doing things, things that involve
1:15.2	the body as much as the mind, that involve the exterior of your life as much as the interior.

1:38.0	Prayer has been defined in all sorts of ways over the centuries.
1:41.7	There are many, many different ways of practicing prayer, but let me identify it this way.
