Last fall I was at Thunder Hill Raceway in Northern California for an event called Self- Racing Cars.

It was a great event, pretty much exactly what you'd expect based on its name.

As I walked the paddock though, there was one vehicle that stood out amid a mix of

race cars and autonomous test vehicles.

It was a tractor prototype produced by a startup called Monarch Tractor.

Loads a tractor doing at a racetrack, you ask,

not setting any speed records.

But it was there showcasing its autonomous electric and connected technology

that's essentially the same or similar as to what you'd find in transportation today.

It's the case acronym being applied to agriculture.

And maybe it says something about me

that I would go to Thunderhill and come away

most interested in a tractor, but I guess that is how it worked out.

Fast forward to last week, Monarch started production of its tractor with

FoxCon. It's a big milestone for the company and they expect to be producing thousands of these
