I would love to hear your morning mindset story. Today I want to

look at Psalm chapter 149. We are almost done with our little skip through the Psalms looking at the things that the writers of these

songs have said to us about our God. Psalm 149 first of, is a Psalm that is very much written as a series of commands to us, telling us what we should be doing.

It starts out with a very direct command, praise the Lord.

You know, praise is an act of the will.

It's something we choose to do.

He goes on, he says, sing to the Lord a new song his praise in the Assembly of the Godly

Let Israel be glad in his maker let the children of Zion rejoice in their king now he uses phrasing here that is unique to the

Old Testament nation of Israel, but it applies to us as well as believers in

Christ when he says let Israel be glad in his maker, let the children of Zion rejoice in their king,

just insert your name there or say the children of God, the children of Jesus, the ones who have faith in him, it can apply to us as well. And notice what he's saying,

let them be glad in their maker. You see, we can choose to be glad about things can't we? We can direct our attention and our

very will to take pleasure in things and that's what the Psalmist here is saying that we should be doing.
