If you've been following along with us for any length of time, I'm sure you've heard this scripture in Matthew 11 that says,

come to me all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you

and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. You know, here at Brilliant, we love this space

that God invites us to abide in with him. This picture reveals to us a kingdom reality,

that every day, at every moment, there's always an invitation to learn from him in rest.

And every situation, regardless of the circumstances,

is the perfect training ground to practice a resting response in him.

Since we have such a beautiful partnership that can never be separated from his love,

we can actually choose to see difficult people and difficult circumstances as a joyful opportunity to embrace his nature. Let's jump in with Graham Cook, as we

learn a little bit more about practicing peace. Often when people say, well, how do you be peaceful? Really, no disrespect anybody,

but I know this for myself. And so I'm going to assume that you're in the same mental

blockage that I had. And our blockage is, how do I do that? And the answer is, you don't. The old man can't do anything.

The new man has Jesus in you. So when Jesus says, my peace I give you, you know, our images is that Jesus is removed from us giving us peace, and then we have to take it and make it work.

That's the standard evangelical, charismatic thing, you know, that God gives us something.

We have to make it work.

And what Jesus is really saying is, I'm in you, I'll be giving it to you.

I'll be living that piece. It will be my peace in you. So I'll teach you how to receive the gift.

I remember once I was in a hotel, I was doing a conference somewhere in the States. I wasn't feeling well, but I'm going,

and I'm on first in the morning, you know, so I'm getting ready, and I leave my hotel, I'm walking

down the corridor to the bank of elevators, and the Lord says to me, Gray, I really like elevators.
