This is a description of both His nature and your new nature in Christ.

These are gifts of God's presence that empower our relationship with Him. And the beautiful thing

about a gift is that we cannot earn it, but we do have the pleasure of learning it together with him.

I love that Hebrews 13-8 says,

Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

This means that every day, we're simply learning to trust and celebrate his unchanging nature towards us.

It's probably the biggest thing that I have concentrated on for the last 10, 20 years.

It's a real foundational piece for everything that we're doing with God.

And that is two verses, Old Testament, New Testament.

And Malachi 3-6 says that, I the Lord are unchanging.

Therefore, because of that, you sons of Jacob are not consumed.

Now, Jacob was a cheat, basically. I mean, he defrauded his brother. He lived a life outside of God until he collided or God collided with him one day

and suddenly is off on this whole journey and God turns Jacob into Israel.

So it's a perfect metaphor for us coming out of the flesh into the spirit.

And so the Lord is saying, I am unchanging. Therefore, you in your awful state will never be consumed. You know, because I don't deal

with you according to your behavior. I deal with you according to my identity. I deal with you according to your behavior. I deal with you according to my identity. I deal with you

according to my nature, not according to yours. So that to me is powerful. But then when you mix
