I'm wearing my Cole Reagan's shirt out of love for the man because, yeah, he was removed from his game early with left tricep, soreness and elbow soreness. Here's the thing. He said it was precautionary? I don't know. We'll see. Also, Tyler Glassdown was removed from his with back spasms, but he says he might be able to make the next start. We don't know. There's also Joe Ryan. His injury scare while the MRI came back clean. So he might even be making his next start. It's kind of wild.

Three guys, all with these scares and no problems, but I hope they are actually no problems and okay.

We'll see.

Jack Flaherty went 10 strikeouts yesterday, and I did this whole thing showcasing why I like to use two strike rate and put away rate a lot this year.

Because I really don't think that we take enough credence into the fact that that is luck.

And everyone says, no, strikeouts are not luck.

You earn strikeouts.

Yes, but there's also luck about if you're going to execute, right?

It's your internal ability.

And considering the pitching is a game of failure,

it is luck if you also get to two strikes a lot. A lot of guys are able to put that in play

if you're able to actually, I'm sure there's some that have like higher CSWs and higher rates

of it, but there's still variance inside of it. And if you get to fewer two strikes in a game, then you are going to have fewer strikeouts.

If you get more at-bats with a two-strike count, you're going to have more strikeouts, right?

Same thing with put-away rate. Okay.

How often do you actually execute a strikeout in that game?

We'd have the understanding.

And this is all to say that we know that yesterday's marks for Jack Flaherty with 10

strikeouts is absurd.

It was way out of line for what we've seen before from him.

With normally like a 58% two strike rate to all of a sudden 76%, which is just so egregious.
