to fill with the obligatory year end updates from family and friends. Exotic vacations,

fulfilling careers, the accomplishments of so many perfect children. Ah, it is the season.

And so we've collected a few Christmas news letters for some festive fun. Names and

locations have been changed, of course, because if there is one thing I've learned in all my years,

it's that there's always room to read between the lines. And chances are, it's a wonderful lie.

Welcome back to It's a Wonderful Lie, everyone! Hey everybody! Happy holidays! I'm Ashley Fowers,

joined by Holly Laurent and Greg Hess. Hello. Howdy, howdy. And today you guys, I have a very special

letter. I mean I'm so excited about all of these, but I really like this one. And I kind of

wanted to open first. Like do you guys have any holiday traditions? Definitely. Definitely. I mean in my

family I grew up in a really rural part of Virginia and we used to go goose hunting on the morning

of Christmas. That's very specific. And the actual Christmas goose. And we'd actually get a Christmas

goose. And now I kind of don't have any interest in shooting a Christmas goose, but yeah it was

it was a very I guess Norman Rockwelly thing to do. Yeah that is very classic. Yeah I never really

like going hunting on Christmas to be honest because you're just freezing your off in the dark in

the cold before you get to go in and finally open your presents. Do you have to like flush them out

or do you just sit in like one of those lines and wait for them to fly? Yeah. Is it the Canadian

geese like that are on their way? Yeah I'm sorry everyone actually this took a dark turn.

My family is just Christmas crazy and my dad for a number of years every Christmas he plays guitar

and he writes music and every Christmas it was a new person in the family. It was their year for

the Christmas song to be about them. So one year your dad is on another level. I know and he would
