And I'm Antonio Dodge. A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away when I was in my early

20s. I was actually in seminary studying to be going

into the full-time ministry basically and Christian, Christian ministry. And I remember back in

the day when we were there, I didn't have the perspective to understand what the conversations were around at the time to the degree I would now.

We had a lot of conversations around postmodernism because at the time a lot of postmodern thought was

starting to come out and in the Christian circles I was running in and the training

I was getting you were confronted with a worldview of a breakdown of what was called the meta narrative.

So this idea that there's one overarching story that explains reality among all of us,

this idea that everybody is human is bought into this giant

meta narrative of reality together and we were seeing you know the the

professors and the thought at the time was you're seeing these little other narratives come up

underneath this and it was a breakdown of this meta narrative there was no one

arching narrative over everything it was basically kind of a relativistic viewpoint that was

starting to come up in the culture. It had been brewing for a long time, but it was

starting to hit a critical mass in the Christian world, for example. And so we had a

lot of conversations around this and I wrote a paper on it in college and in seminary and all this stuff.

And I think it's an interesting topic because it shows how, it tends to show us how all of us have a narrative that we run our lives by.

We have a story that we tell ourselves that we assume at the base level other people are

bought into almost by default. We don't really. base level

overarching narrative or organizing principle of our lives, other people are bought into.
