get our minds aligned with the truth of God's Word. That's what we do every episode of

the morning mindset. So welcome. Today we'll be looking at Proverbs chapter 19 verses

1 and verse 22. But before we get there, I just want to remind you I love to hear from

in to Proverbs chapter 19. Verse number 1 says, better is a poor person who walks in his

integrity than one who is crooked in speech and is a fool. Skipping ahead to verse 22, it says,

what is desired in a man is steadfast love and a poor man is better than a liar. Now the

interesting thing about these two verses to me is that they both mentioned this idea of being

poor. But they contrast that idea with some things that we think of positively. See, because we

tend to think of poverty in a negative sense that it's a bad thing when a person is poor,

or it's a detrimental thing to their life. But the point that Solomon is making in this

passage is that even someone who experiences that negative thing of poverty is able to have

some rich things exist in their lives. And it's actually a better thing for them to have those

rich things than some of the alternatives. So let's look more closely at these verses. Verse

1 says, better is a poor person who walks in his integrity. So stop and make sure you understand

what that means. This person is poor. They don't have enough resources, perhaps. But they are a

person of integrity. And they are sure to live according to their integrity. So they're honest,

they're truthful. They don't steal, you know, they have good character. And it's saying that is a
