Gordon Chang at Gordon G. Chang, my colleague and co-host, we turn to what we know of the presidential campaigns with regard to the critical subject of the People's Republic of China,

the geopolitics, the finances, the investment class, the future, dealing with a non-transparent and at this point you'd

have to say autocratic regime that is extremely dangerous to its neighborhood and

to world peace.

Gordon, the Trump campaign, Mr. Trump talks often of tariffs,

directed at China, tariffs directed at Europe, but there is a record from the

first administration. What do you expect

would be the Trump administration's policy towards the President Xi Jinping

and the trouble the Chinese economy? I'd expect a President Trump to increase the

tariffs on China and probably across the board. He's talked about this

consistently, especially starting in February, but we've heard a lot. He's actually talked about history,

history of American tariffs going back to McKinley. So this is somebody who actually, I think, deeply believes in the power of tariffs.

And I think he's right.
