Summary

Two stories about small, unexpected ways scientists are trying to combat global climate change. First, can greenhouse gases be reduced by training cows to pee in a toilet? Can cows be trained to pee in a toilet? Researchers from Germany are trying to find out, and Jeff and Anthony have opinions! Then, what if you could dramatically reduce the amount of energy needed to cool your home by simply painting the roof? Scientists at Purdue believe their new world record holding white paint could do just that. Anthony and Jeff take a look.

One thing can give buy you and it's okay. This is we have concerns. Hi Jeff Kanata. Hi Anthony Carboni. Hello concerned citizens. Anthony, uh,

0:24.0

we got to deal with this global warming. We got to deal with this global warming. Uh, we do us. Everybody. It turns out,

0:32.0

climate change, it's on us. It turns out it's a problem for, but you know what? Everybody. Wait, turns out,

0:39.6

the climate is all over the planet. Jeff. Yeah. I own a metal straw. You're doing your part. I'm not going

0:48.0

to take that away from you. I don't know. You're doing your part. Yeah. No, I appreciate that. Jeffrey, I own, I own a

0:56.4

collapsible shopping bag that half the time I remember to bring with me. Jeffrey, you are a hero because

1:04.7

I have. Thank you. Capes, but it turns out that a lot of the problem, I'm, we've talked about this

1:13.0

before. A lot of the problem isn't, isn't coming from the humans. No, disagree. Granted, a lot is

1:20.6

coming from the humans. And I'm going to say 90% of the problem is coming from the humans. Well,

1:24.6

when you get to it, when you get to the root of the problem, it's the humans, but a lot of the actual

1:31.6

problem with the, uh, the greenhouse gas layer is coming from cows. I'm going to put this blame

1:41.6

squarely on cows right now. Oh, no, absolutely. Granted.

1:46.6

Fucking idiots. Humans, humans bred the cows. You know, oh, I'm

1:50.5

going to be this, would there be this many cows? No, it's probably not. It's so delicious. No.

1:55.6

Yeah. Would they, would we be overfeeding and under exercising them and causing them to be more

2:00.5

flatulent and unhealthy? Probably not. I mean, you know, hard to say. Like it's, it's their

2:05.5

fault for being so delicious. But can I can I can I tell you something? So don't listen,

2:12.0

you know me. I read all the studies about animals. I love, I love a good study about animal brains.

2:18.4

Yeah, you love being around smart animals. I love a smart animal. And most animals are smarter than

2:23.3

we think. I've read a lot of studies that say that cows are more intelligent than any animal we

2:27.7

have domesticated. Let me tell you something. Somebody's been face to face with a cow.

2:30.8

They don't. They don't. It's bullshit. Well, not only that, but they're mean and I cannot prove it,
