I work here and I kind of help oversee what we call

Bridgetown communities along with Gavin, who you just met.

If you have a Bible, open to Matthew 9.

If you've been with us, you know that we tend to run to teaching

series at any given time.

We'll spend a couple of weeks teaching through what we call a practice.

So time tested spiritual disciplines, principles,

and habits from the life and teachings of Jesus, like prayer and fasting,

and most recently, hospitality.

And then we'll take a break from those practices and teach through for a couple

of weeks a book of the Bible, line by line.

So tonight we're going to pick up in the gospel of Matthew.

We have a big passage to cover.

So stick with me.

I'll read a big piece of it to start and then we'll kind of finish the rest of

the passage throughout the night.

But I would just encourage you just go read the whole thing on your own.

It's 28 verses, which is why I'm not going to read it all out loud.
