How funny that this episode is about that. And I would rather, like Bart, I would rather not do homework. But postcards from The Edge is the first book by Carrie Fisher.

Oh, really? Yeah. She was on The Edge of Insanity from the moment she entered Hollywood, right? Pretty much. Yeah, well, yeah, she was born into a showby's family and, you know, started acting from a fairly young age. Even before she was Princess Lay, she'd been in a few movies and things like that. Yeah. I think wasn't Hamill the only real unknown going into that, like, as for the main cast? Yeah, I think even Hamill was sort of on the, on the rise as well. I mean, Harrison Ford wasn't even that well known. He'd been in a few movies, and he'd been an American graffiti for George Lucas. That's the one movie. I mean, really a star pair and that was Alec Guinness. Yeah. I mean, that's the one that gave Star Wars a bit of credibility.

But no, postcards from The Edge was Carrie Fisher's first novel.

It was very sort of thinly veiled story of her life and her sort of career in showbiz.

It's about a young actress in Hollywood, sort of navigating her personal and professional life.

She's sort of in and out of rehab.

She's flirting with drugs.

Heavy petting with a drug, shall we say.

But yeah, it gave a lot of people indications like, oh, we thought she was just Princess Leyer.

But, yeah, Carrie Fisher, as I think we've alluded to on, we might have talked about this with, with Lenin Moulton on the movie guide with Moulton and Davis, how she was a really successful script doctor for ages. I mean, she wrote her own scripts, but she also, if a production needed like, this could use four funnier lines, or this character's a little underdeveloped.

They'd go to Carrie Fisher and she was a really good writer and she'd be able to punch it up. So she published a few more books, but Postcards from the Edge was her first one. This is before or after Star Wars? It was after Star Wars. I think it was the late 80s, early 90s. I remember having a copy back in the day and thought, this is pretty good. Look it up. So what does that title have to do with this episode?
