0:26.5	Parents and other caregivers have had a hard time since the start of the coronavirus
0:30.8	pandemic.
0:32.1	But a new survey conducted during the first wave of infections
0:35.3	is pointing to a silver lining in all that hardship. It suggests that caregivers have experienced
0:40.8	what's called post-traumatic growth.
0:44.2	This comes from a study where psychologists surveyed 385 British and Portuguese caregivers of children
0:50.0	between the ages of 6 and 16 between the start of May and the end of June last year.
0:56.2	On the face of it, things didn't look great for the caregivers, who were mostly mothers.
1:01.2	70% were working exclusively from their homes and nearly half had less income than before
1:06.6	the pandemic.
1:08.4	Almost all their children were being homeschooled, so these caregivers were responsible for the children full time while also trying to work.
1:16.1	And to make matters worse, 20% of the respondents said a family member was sick or suspected to be
1:22.0	infected with COVID.
